I Am Your Servant – SATB & flute

Here is an anthem that honors servant-hood and provides a way to musically thank those who give so graciously.  Based on Psalm 116:16-19, we read that we are serving, thanking and praising our maker when we lay our gifts at God’s feet.  Piano and optional flute provide the accompaniment to this choral anthem.  The opening motif introduced in 3/4 later shifts its accent as it leaps into 6/8 and then back again.  Beginning softly the piece builds through a simple counterpoint section returning to a prayerful conclusion.
